Pre Planning
At Westover Funeral Directors, we believe planning ahead is one of the most thoughtful gifts you can give your family. Pre-planning allows you to make your own decisions and ensure your wishes are carried out just as you desire. It also eases the emotional and financial burden on your loved ones during a difficult time.
Our caring staff will guide you through each step, helping you create arrangements that reflect your preferences and budget. Plans can be made in the comfort of your own home or at our funeral home. Call us today to learn more about the peace of mind that comes with planning ahead.
FUNERAL SERVICE
Traditional
A traditional casket burial remains a meaningful way to honor and celebrate a loved one’s life. We offer a range of options to meet your family’s wishes. You may choose an immediate burial without a public service, or include a visitation, viewing, or wake with either an open or closed casket. Services can be held at our funeral home, a church, a private residence, or followed by a graveside ceremony at the cemetery. Whether you prefer a public or private gathering—or a combination of both—our staff will help you create a service that reflects your loved one’s memory with dignity and respect.
FUNERAL SERVICE
Chapel Service
A chapel funeral service offers a meaningful way to honor and celebrate the life of your loved one. Whether you choose burial or cremation, a service in our chapel allows family and friends to gather, share memories, and find comfort together. You may select a traditional ceremony or design something unique that reflects your loved one’s personality and beliefs. We understand that every family and culture has its own customs, and we will do our best to accommodate your wishes. Our staff is here to guide you with care and respect, helping you create a service that is both personal and memorable.
FUNERAL SERVICE
Memorial Service
A memorial service offers a thoughtful way to honor and remember the life of your loved one. Similar to a traditional funeral, it provides a time for family and friends to come together, share memories, and offer support to one another. A memorial service may be held soon after a passing or at a later date, with or without an urn present. Services can take place at our funeral home, the final resting place, or in the comfort of your own home. However you choose to gather, we are here to help you create a meaningful tribute that reflects your loved one’s life and legacy.
FUNERAL SERVICE
Military Service
A military funeral service pays tribute to the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of those who have served our nation. The ceremony typically includes the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veteran’s family and the playing of Taps. These honors are performed by a funeral detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces, with at least one representing the veteran’s branch of service.
Depending on the veteran’s status, honors may include Full Military Honors, a Seven-Person Detail, or a Standard Honors Team Detail. A live bugler will perform Taps whenever possible; if unavailable, a high-quality recording may be used. Upon request, Military Honor Teams may also serve as pallbearers. We are proud to assist in arranging these respectful tributes that recognize a life of service and commitment to country.
FUNERAL SERVICE
Cremation
Cremation has become a meaningful and flexible option for many families. You may choose to hold a traditional funeral service before the cremation or plan a memorial service at a later time, with or without the urn present. Families often decide to keep the urn, scatter the ashes in a special place, or have the urn buried in a cemetery. Whatever you choose, our staff will guide you in creating a ceremony that honors your loved one’s life with dignity and care.
